A child once called-out his dad (who seldom returns home early from work each day) after work one day and asked him, what his hourly pay was. The dad got angry why his son should be asking him such questions and even starting shouting at the wife for manipulating their son into asking for such things. The man’s reply was, why? The son replied I just want to know. Then the man said it was $100. The boy said thank you and went back to his room, took out his money save and starting calculating what he has been saving for months. He doled out a $100 dollar and returned back to his dad and said, ‘dad, here’s $100, I want to spend one hour with you before I go to bed tonight’.

The man felt so ashamed of himself. He had no excuse to make but to apologize to his little boy for not being there when he needed him the most and promised to be a better dad from that moment.

The subject of work-life balance is a concept that advocates proper prioritizing between work which includes (professional career and ambition) and “lifestyle” (health, pleasure, leisure, family and spiritual development/meditation).

Many organizations have and are still adopting the HR strategy that it is better to retain and help workers achieve a good life while working than to discard them and be faced with recruiting new ones.

According to Madonna Doyle & Associates, Work-life balance is a broad concept including proper prioritizing between career and ambition on one hand, compared with pleasure, leisure, family and spiritual development on the other.

The concepts of globalization, glocalization, high pressure, the craze for wealth has almost removed the traditional line between family values and work. Also, these changes have produced unprecedented wealth with a price. Millions of people are overworked, over-scheduled, overwhelmed and stressed out and there’s no end in sight.

So why is Balance Important in Life:

  •           For family;

  •          For recreation;

  •           For spiritual activities;

  •          For other areas of interest.

No area is supposed to suffer, lest, there will be a deficiency.

Consequences or the Impact of Work on Health:

  • Stress

  • Hypertension

  • Heart disease

  • Stroke

How Do You Maintain Mental Health at Work?

  • Plan your schedule per day and know how much task you can accomplish in a day. Do not over task yourself on a daily basis. The benefits of scheduling is to enable you avoid carrying over work into another day or working late, so you can go home to your family when it is time.

  • Take a Lunch Break: break time is meant for every worker to refill, stretch, and relief themselves of the pressures of work.

  • Set Realistic Deadlines: Your deadlines should be realistic enough to meet the SMART (specific, measurable, attainable, relevant and time-bound) model. Do not take over task which is meant for two persons and think you can complete it within a time it will require two persons to achieve it.

  • Take deserved leave: The purpose of annual leave is to provide employees with a reasonable period of rest and recreation, and a break from the workplace each year. It is not to be used for work. It is used to regain lost energy and refresh for future tasks. Try to take your leave seriously, in fact, if your organization permits, you can break it into two or try times within a year.

In conclusion, it is only the living that can enjoy what he/she has worked for. A person who managed his time well that can add value to life and vice versa. It is also a person who adds value to life that is reckoned with. Work will continue long after you’re gone.

The Big Question: What’s Your WHY for Joining that MLM COMPANY?

What’s that one thing that you’ll either live or die for’?

This is a question most people find difficult to answer. My sole aim here is to help you succeed in whatever opportunity you may find yourself.

Multilevel Marketing (MLM) is not a quick-money business for just anybody. It takes a lot from distributors to build up their businesses. Like any other business out there, 90% of new businesses fail in their first year. 90% of the ones that stayed on fail after their fourth year. This statistic is very much applicable any all the industry you can think of that’s why it takes a lot to succeed in business.

Now having established that fact, many MLM company exist today; many of them are either product or service based. But one thing is common amongst all; they’re all looking for ‘You and I’. Yes, you heard me right; you and I make the difference. All of them make lots of promises to you. All of them offer you opportunities to live rich lifestyles have more time for you and family, have lots of money to do whatever you want, however you want and whenever you want. That’s good but none of them have ever asked you what you want. They believe based on psychology and motivational theories available out there that every one of you want/need the same thing.

Even though we may all share one or two of those needs, we still secret obsessions which is not mentioned above. So I ask, what’s that thing that can keep you awake all through the night? Yes, it’s that same thing that can make you climb the tallest mountain and swim past the longest river ten times over and not get tired. It’s your secret obsession.


Finding your WHY in MLM or any other industry makes your work 50-70% complete. It’s the reason why when every other person is giving up, you’re pushing to your higher calling. It forms your motivating factor. A well thought out WHY can save your life.

The major problem most people face is that they’re too in a hurry to make money and pay-off their debts/bills. Please don’t get me wrong, money is good but when your focus is on money alone then, you’re not yet ready for business. You must find a need in other people’s lives and meet them. Money as they say moves in the direction of quality service. Simply put, when your product or service is able to meet a need, then, you can make sales and possibly recruit others into that opportunity.

Your real why stems from your divinely orchestrated path; that’s what you’re called out to do on earth. How would you feel if in the end of your journey on earth, you’re congratulated because you finished your work and won your race? It doesn’t have to be all about you or about money. If I may ask you, what will you do with your life if you had all the time and money in the world? You now see it goes beyond money, time and all that you were promised. You could have more than one WHY. Genuine WHY are mostly people driven and it should be bigger than you.

Your intention must be right! A badly thought out intention will make you want to reach your goals by all means. The implications are as follows:

  1. Through hook or crook;
  2. Make unreliable/empty promises just to get people join you;
  3. Coarse and not logically present an opportunity for prospects to make a choice;
  4. Making you engage in irregularities and create bad belly about your opportunity;
  5. Your people may never be able to replicate you;
  6. Your focus will remain on sales rather than leadership and relationship.
  7. In the end you’ll drive people away from you and your opportunity.

Tips to help you figure out your WHY.

  • What makes you smile?
  • What are your favorite activities?
  • What makes you lose track of time?
  • What are you naturally gifted at?
  • What do people always ask you for help in?
  • What do you regret not doing?
  • What causes are you passionate about?
  • What are your deepest values?
  • If you were to be a lecturer, what course would you teach?
  • Given your talents, passions and values. How could you use these resources to serve, to help, to contribute; the society?

If you’re able to discover your WHY, you’re on your way to MLM Bliss!

As you think about how you can begin to embrace the entrepreneurial mindset more actively, here are 13 things you must do – at all times – in order to convert those great ideas into reality:

1. Believe in Yourself

You can’t take action until you believe in yourself enough to handle the consequences of your actions. Any time you assume the responsibility to give something that had not existed before an opportunity to become a reality, you become accountable for your actions.

Accountability requires believing in you enough to make the right choice even though it might seem to be the wrong decision initially.

2. Get a Mentor

Don’t ever think you have all of the answers, just because it’s your idea. Learn from those who have done it before. Ideation is distinctly different from execution. Many new entrepreneurs think they have the mass of knowledge to get along their chosen field all by themselves. I think no. You need to have an eye over you who can counsel and advice you at least in your first 3 years. Their thoughts may not necessarily be right though. Rich Melcombe, CEO of Richmel Media & Productions, says that: “If you want to be a successful entrepreneur, listen to everyone because you never know when you will hear a good idea.”

In the end, carefully evaluate any input that you get – but proceed with your own instinct.

3. Assemble your Team

The best thing that can happen to any entrepreneur is having the right persons on their team. It is easy to get people to work with but it is not easy to get the right people. Anyone who associates with you from the start can’t necessarily be the people for your team. A good team comprises of people whom you can share your ideas with; they understand it and makes input to modifying it. It also should be people who are not afraid to make constructive criticism but are able to accept correction. Your team should be able to take your idea and make it theirs.

Risk becomes your best friend when you give birth to an idea. If you accept this fact, you will approach the process with the knowledge that keeps your dreams and ambitions are on track. risk

5. Be Extremely Patient

Take the time to appreciate the journey and understand how things work. Most people are too anxious to get their desired results and thus start to make bad decisions as they go. Don’t put too much pressure on yourself. One thing is certain: the journey will be filled with unexpected outcomes that you may not be prepared to deal with. Don’t let this get you down, but keep your head up and respect the process and where it takes you. You will learn a lot about your threshold of risk and ability.

6. Sell Your Vision

Converting your idea to a reality requires you to help others understand your vision. Clearly define your value proposition and how it can generate revenue. Selling lofty ideas without understanding how it will achieve financial results will never get you the right audience.

Learn how to spot the paths of connectivity along the journey. What may be your “core idea” today can mature into something bigger as you connect other tenets that naturally associate with your idea along the way. Never stop connecting the dots!

8. Be Passionate about your Pursuit

When you put your passion into everything you do, it gives you the power to become a potent pioneer. You will blaze paths few would go down, and see them all the way through to the end. Your passion will open new doors to endless possibilities. Your ability to remain passionate about what you stand for is the ultimate enabler for the success of your idea.

9. Be Purposeful

Your intentions for your idea must have purpose and meaning. If not, your probability to quit along the way will increase. Your purpose is to execute the idea and make others believe in it. Purpose fuels your passion and makes your journey less lonely.


10. Build your Momentum

Building momentum has a lot to do with timing, management and deployment of resources. Carefully identify all of your resources and build upon them via relationships, networking and sharing of resources to expand the opportunity for your ideas. Building momentum is critically important to convert your idea into a reality. Stay focused, stick to your plan, eliminate distractions/neutralize the noise, shut out people who tell you to jump when you’re not ready yet. To gain momentum, you need to fall back and release. 11. Remain Relevant

Never grow complacent. You can always expand upon your idea and make it better. Continuous improvement is your key to sustained presence in the business.

12. Make Work/Life Balance a Priority

Successfully converting an idea into a reality is a marathon, not a sprint. Pace yourself so that you can reflect upon the mission at hand. Always be aware of what you are attempting to accomplish. Don’t overwhelm your mind; give yourself some breathing room and allow your creativity to expand. No matter how smart, passionate, or focused you work, without balance we are all susceptible to burnout. Mind, body and soul must be properly aligned.

Let’s say you made the commitment to assume the responsibilities associated with the first 11 steps and have already been successful. Your original idea was born and its impact has now morphed into multiple areas that you would have never thought possible at the beginning. Life is a Process!

images (1)I have learned through good times and in bad times. I have come to the knowledge that life can’t be as rosy as we expect it. Even though the purpose is known, the process is still unknown and cannot be predicted by any man. Is any man able to foresee the path which he takes to greatness? If so, people will always easily find a way around certain situations because if cause is known, solution isn’t farfetched.

Every individual needs to go through own process. Hence, how we all would want to stay in happy, calm bubble mood for just a little while longer. Yes for just a couple of more days. Hmm, life doesn’t work that way.

In life we need the ups and the downs, we need the lows to appreciate the highs and we need things to move forward to ensure we don’t get stuck in one place. Life truly is a process: a series of events, some of which bring us happiness, some that bring us sadness and some that leave us in that grey place in between. But as someone said to me some time ago, “It all just goes by and we move onto the next feeling and the next opportunity to learn about ourselves and find our shine”. The challenge for us is whether we embrace the process or resist it. Can we get excited about the opportunities that it brings? Or do we live in fear about what’s just around the corner?


When you understand the process of your life, then, each step of the process aligns with a greater mission and the challenges become one more step to a better and healthier tomorrow. In the process, your experience could leave you awestruck but don’t panic, you’re getting closer to a perfect end. It may seem that season will never end when you’re in the process, but trust me, when the pain is too sharp, that’s when your joy start building. Remember, weeping may endure for a night, but JOY comes in the morning. It’s your time to dance.

Many people have asked me severally, what it takes to build/grow a vibrant business in Multi-level Marketing Industry. That issue I want to discuss in a more detailed manner here. What I’m about to share is what I have actually learned from gurus whom I follow on social media, admire and research about like the legendary Holton Buggs.

As a team leader, how do you inspire your team to success? We all know that the secret to any organization is TEAM WORK. Now to lead a very successful team that will be envied in any network marketing business, you must practice four (4) secrets. Many people will tell you all sorts of things about growing your business, I stand to be quoted, when you do what you’re about to learn, you are on your way to MLM Bliss! Your team will grow exponentially having buttressed roots e.t.c

Now what are the 4 secrets that have eluded so many network marketers for so long.

1. Learn: Many people don’t pay attention to this fact; they feel this industry is a one way traffic (Make Money Fast). No. In fact, to be successful in this industry and other industries, you must study the industry, study the trends and learn from the masters. Study also what makes the company or business you’re promoting unique; how can you grow to new heights in your business? Learners are Leaders as they say, but just learning without GAINING STRATEGIES is mere reading.

Places to Learn:

a. Seminars: attend seminars, conferences (live or online), leadership meetings

b. On-line Webinar: learn from the leaders in your industry, subscribe to their channels and get updated news about them. Learn from their live experiences, what they suffered before they got to where they are and what they did to get there.

c. Articles: Research your favorite companies, read-up articles for or against, FAQ sections of their websites and make notes for yourself and team.

d. Others: there are very important lessons you can learn from experts in other industries that can be applied to your business and stand you out as a leader.

2. Do: All great leaders have something in common, that is, ACTIONS! If you are to stand out in this industry, you must DO/ACT on what you have learned. A dream is only a dream in your head or on paper if it’s not put to work. You can become noticed when you start doing what you have learned. In DOING, you get RESULTS and results draw the attention of others nearby. You may have heard the saying, ‘think-outside-the-box’; what does it mean to you? For me it simply means, ‘do something different’. But many have interpreted it to literally mean ‘think’ as in ‘muse’ without what brings the real content of that saying out, ‘Act’. So, don’t just ‘talk-the-talk’, ‘Work-the-Talk’!

3. Teach: What will stand you out in network marketing industry is not your ability to prospect people. You may prospect a thousand people and still not get lasting success. What drives your result is a vibrant organization. If you have learned how to generate a thousand leads and you have practiced it, but have not thought your team how to do same, you are still running a one man organization. We hear people say at different meetings replicate/duplicate. It doesn’t me what you think, it means, ‘produce or re-create yourself in your referrals’. You can only be successful as your team and your team can only be as successful as you.


So to be successful, teach your team:

– generate leads;

– make presentations;

– prospect new clients;

– close the deals;

– fill-out new registration;

– navigate their back office;

– calculate their commissions on their own;

– Rank advance to new positions;

– replicate after their kind,

If your 80-90% of your team members is able to learn all these things, then you can be sure of maximum income weekly, monthly, and quarterly and annually in your business.

4. Repeat: the last secret I’ll teach here is to repeat 1 – 3. Let your team members do same things you have done. Let them learn, do and teach their direct downlines and their down lines.

Doing the above four will relieve you of whatsoever pressure you may have faced and free your time to focus on other aspects of your business. You will build a healthy and self-reliant organization that will generate thousands, even hundreds of thousands of $$$ when your team cascades to 5, 6, 7 generations behind you.
